He graduated from Manchester University with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy in 1990. He went on to work in South Manchester Health Authority, then Salford Hospitals NHS trust before taking on a senior job at Royal Bolton Hospital in 1996. Whilst at Bolton he worked as an Extended Scope Practitioner in areas of Upper Limb, Spinal and Lower Limb. In 2000 he began work as a Lecturer Practitioner, a split post between Bolton and Salford University before going full time Lecturing early 2003.
He is registered with the Health Professions Council; he is a member of the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (OCPPP) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine (ACPSM).
His extensive experience in the NHS and depth of Post Graduate Education (including Body Control Pilates) has highly developed his physiotherapy knowledge and skills. He has written systematic reviews and has recently finished writing his second book chapter due for Publication in 2007 by Elsevier. He is currently undertaking research into lower limb injuries in the movement analysis laboratory at Salford University |
