Liz Mahon
Sports Nutritionist
Liz is a registered nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition, has a PhD in Endurance Sports Nutrition and a postgraduate diploma in sports nutrition with the International Olympic Committee.
For over a decade Liz has worked as a lecturer, researcher and practitioner in the fields of both public health and sport. She has developed and led research-informed degree programmes in Sport, Nutrition and Health at Liverpool John Moores and Glyndwr Universities and as a result, her own practise is similarly evidence-based. She has worked with many organisations, sports clubs and athletes providing nutritional guidance; assessment of dietary intake; body composition analysis; and fuelling and catering for events. Liz enjoys opening up new areas for possible improvement by helping clients focus on how nutrition can complement their work and training.
As an athlete herself, she understands the challenges of training and fuelling correctly. Liz’s main passion is being in the mountains and trail running but also enjoys triathlon and multisport racing, having competed at all distances from sprint through to Ironman. She previously trained as a mountain leader and worked as a glacier guide, so has an interest in sport and nutrition in extreme environments.
